Hello Myles,

We have never met but from my last name you can probably tell I am distantly related to your wife’s family.

I do research on my genealogy from time to time and came across your web site and tribute video for Dean Glandt. I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed your tribute video very much.

Through my research I know that Dean was a first cousin of my grandfather Darold Glandt. Some of the photos of Dean have a striking resemblance to my grandfather. The family tree goes somewhat like below:

1. Peter Julius Glandt
  2. Peter H. Glandt
    3. Darrold W. Glandt
      4. Roger Dean Glandt
        5. Jeffrey Dean Glandt (me)
  2. Martin G. Glandt
    3. Dean Martin Glandt
      4. Delphine Becker (Glandt)

As you can see, my grandfather gave my father the middle name Dean that was passed on to me. I’ve always wondered where my middle name came from and the only reference I have ever found is my grandfather’s first cousin Dean Martin Glandt. I’ve always imagined they were close but have no proof of it.

Anyway, no specific reason for contacting you. Someday I hope to travel Wyoming to do a bit of research on the Glandt’s so connections in the area will be beneficial, but no specific plans for a trip anytime soon. I have strong connections with the Nebraska Glandt’s as that is where my great grandfather Peter H. went back to from Wyoming to live and many of my uncles and cousins still live there.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area but now live in Vancouver, BC Canada. I moved here ~9 years ago for work, met my wife, got married, and have one son (Peter L. Glandt, obviously from the family tree). I think he is the first Canadian born Glandt so I though Peter was very appropriate.

Take care,

Jeffrey Dean Glandt

Yes, even previous posts about the other versions of my site will be put back in here. I'm not going to edit myself, either...all posts are exactly as the originals were.
