So, I found out earlier tonight that Peter Forsberg, while playing with his Swedish team during this extended off season, suffered a broken collarbone and concussion.
[sigh]
Here's some text from one of the stories:
Peter Forsberg's career as a hockey player might be over, his father said after Forsberg suffered a serious concussion while playing in Sweden.Oy vey...Forsberg, a former Colorado Avalanche star, also suffered a possible broken collarbone Thursday night while playing for his Swedish team, Modo.
"He's had his share of concussions," said his father, Kent Forsberg, who is also Modo's coach. "I think it is enough now [to cause him to retire]."
Forsberg, 31, was injured on a cross-check on his second shift in his first game back after missing several weeks because of a broken wrist.
Forsberg was helped off the ice by teammates, including NHL star Markus Naslund. He was able to leave the ice on his skates but needed help. It's possible he'll need surgery on his collarbone.
