Happy Mom's Day!

Happy Mom's Day!!!

I wanted to say it big, because it's really important to me.

Mom's are great, aren't they? I suppose there are some out there that aren't great, but for the most part, moms are an excellent source of love, tough love, guidance, appreciation, support, and many other things that we need to have a healthy, balanced life.

My mom is great. Truly. I understand it more and more and I get older and can appreciate the things that she taught me in her own little way.

She taught me about jazz, swing and big band music. Well, kind of. She let me play records on our record player when I fancied listening to something. And then she made artists like Dave Brubeck, Herbie Hancock, Henry Mancini, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and many more available to me via her collection.

She taught me that life needs balance, something I am constantly trying to achieve. Every now and then I get a few moments of balance, and it's wonderful, and I'm reminded of my mom.

Fianlly, she taught me about love. We have a lot of special days that we celebrate, but one of my favorite is June 10th, which is Adoption Day. It was the day I became Kenneth Myles Becker and was welcomed into the Becker family with loving, open arms.

Thanks, Mom! This day is for you, and for all the great moms out there, especially my wondeful wife. I love you both so much!

Thanks, Myles! I love you. And thanks for making me a mom and a grandma. Every minute has been worth it...even our nose to nose and toes to toes times that had a bit of volume to them. The bottom line was love and I think maybe you even knew that then.
