Allie's First Day Of School!
Hooray! Another great day in the Becker house! Today was Allie's first official day at pre-school. She is going to be attending school at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, where Delphine used to teach Sunday School.
Today, I stayed with Allie for 30 minutes with the teacher and we learned all the rules to the classroom. She has a great setup with lots and LOTS of stuff to do (she calls it "work" and the children are only allowed to play with the "work" that she has showed them how to do). Allie really seemed to pick up on most everything, and LOVES the dove that lives in the room.
Wednesday will be a one hour session with parents and other kids, and then next week will be a two hour session without parents, so it's a phase-in schedule that really allows the kids to get used to what's going on. Pretty cool stuff.
I'm really looking forward to Allie going to school because I know she's ready to start filling her brain up with more cool stuff.
