Happy All Hallows Eve

Posted at October 31, 2005 10:45 PM in Holidays .

One of my favorite holidays is upon us. A time for apparitions, vampires to bite the necks of unwilling victims, and hockey pucks to embed themselves in someone’s head (if this last one doesn’t sound familiar, then you haven’t known me for very long).

Ever since I was a kid, this has been one of my favorite times of the year. I like getting scared and it’s a fun rush if done right.

The kiddos aren’t quite ready for the scary part yet…Allie is still a bit skittish about spiders, especially, so we may have to hold off on that kind of stuff. In fact, when Delphine helped me put my horns on today, she thought I was a rhinoceros, instead of “The Neighbor of the Beast.” But that’s o.k. I’ve got time and patience with that kind of thing, and I think she’ll come around sooner or later.

Allie was Raggedy Ann this year, and Nate was Mickey Mouse (well, as Mickey Mouse as a 7 month-old can be), and they are, as always, adorable. You can click on the images to the right for bigger versions.

Anyway, we here at the Becker house really hope that you had a great, safe Halloween and we should really mark this day down on the calendar. There was no snow and no rain, and apart from a little wind, it was just a typical Fall evening…a far cry from the many nights that I have spent wearing two or three layers of clothes, doing a speed run around the neighborhood in my plastic batman mask. AND THAT WAS JUST THREE YEARS AGO!!! Heh…

I hope you had a great evening!
