...or whatever you use to right the cosmic balance of the universe...
Delphine's dad isn't doing great as of recently.
On Monday, Davenne (Delphine's mom) noticed his speech was a bit off, but not much, so she didn't think much about it. On Tuesday, he was having a lot of problems speaking, so she called an ambulance. He was taken to a hospital in Mesa, AZ. At first they thought he had had a stroke, but it turns out it was something else. Later he was transferred to St. Joseph's in Phoenix.
After many tests and cat scans, they have found that he has 2 tumors on his brain. One is about the size of a 50 cent piece, and the other is smaller. The larger one is on an area of the brain that affects speech, which is why his speech was/is labored.
The doctors believe that the tumors may have come from somewhere else in his body, but cannot determine right now where that might be.
They have not yet determined whether or not the tumors are cancerous. If they ARE cancerous, then the only solution is radiation treatment. Dean has decided he is not going to find out if they are cancerous until he gets back home to Cheyenne or can meet with specialists in Denver and get a second opinion. He will also have another cat scan done to see if the tumors have grown, shrunk, or stayed the same. After he has that second opinion and the test results, he will determine his next course of action.
At one point, they thought there was also bleeding in the brain, but thankfully that turned out to NOT be the case.
Right now they are trying to get his Coumadin levels back to where they should be, and then he should be able to go home (back to Florence, AZ) by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
Any good vibes you can send his way would be greatly appreciated...
