Well, I'm back in the Director's chair, this time, co-directing with our good friend Susan Snare. They finally let me put together an evening of Edgar Allan Poe goodies for you all! Of course, as it goes with Community Theatre, I'm also acting in it, doing the PR (my regular job with the group), and probably Stage Managing...heh. Gotta love it!

The main event of the production is a one-act called "Murder By Poe", a theatrical re-imagining of some of Edgar Allan Poe's most famous tales of terror—"The Black Cat," "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Murders in the Rue Morgue," "William Wilson," "The Purloined Letter," "The Mystery of Marie Roget" and "The Fall of the House of Usher."

There will also be some dramatic readings of other Poe classics to get everyone in the mood. On tap are "The Raven" (no Poe show would be complete without it), "The Masque of the Red Death" (a very creepy story about an awful plague that wipes out the world, and one man's plight to escape from it), "Ulalume" (a fun yet creepy poem about a lost love), and "Morella" (a story of a love and lost soul).

If you are a Poe fan at all, I think you will truly enjoy the evening of the Master's work.

Does 'acting weird' qualify me as an industry professional?
