First Pumpkin Carve Of The Season

Posted at October 25, 2006 11:19 PM in Holidays .

Dad and Allie carve up the first pumpkin of the Halloween season! Click here to see the pictures!Ah! Here is the unwilling victim. Good size, good weight, and great color. The knife was met with some resistance at first, but after we got the hang of it, it went rather well.

It's been several years since I've carved a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern, and it truly is one of my favorite things to do. Allie and I decided that tonight was the night we would massacre our first together.

We first drew several faces on paper before deciding upon a good, simple design (can't really go full out on your first one). Allie has named it Tinkerbell Jack-O-Lantern.

Click the image to the right to see the full gallery of shots (13 in all, in honor of the season), and to watch our pumpkin come to life.

Delphine, the kids and I will be headed to Oklahoma this coming weekend to see Jeaux, Michelle, Marleigh and a bunch of friends that we haven't seen in a couple of years. We've got a lot of fun stuff (like a pumpkin carving party and a Boo At The Zoo for the kiddos) planned, and I can't wait to celebrate Halloween with my friends.

Cheers!

How goes it Myles! long time no experience!!! HA! Anyway...thought I'd stop by and see what was going on in the Becker household of late...very nice. Yeah, my boy, Jesse just turned 8 two weeks ago...we did the Anderson Farms thing this year for the Pumpkin picking. Me, Allison, and J. are doing great. Still got the daytime gig AND the music thing going...you can listen to some choonage on my website or on http://www.myspace.com/tefonik ... Kinda taking it slow this year as I got a bit too stretched with projects...happy homelife + promoting an underground electronica project = a lil' stress...I sort had to pull the reins a bit, as being away from home endlessly just isn't for me right now...at least till Jesse's a bit older, but who knows? By that time...I'll probably won't be too interested in going to darkened clubs in Berlin named after martyrs or farm animals. : )

Cheers to you and your familia.!
