Call And Answer
The Ladies put on a great show, as always. There was a HUGE variety of songs from just about anywhere you could think of, including a couple that I've never heard live, and for those of you that know me, you know that is a feat for BNL!
The BLAM tour is obviously to showcase the new album, and the set and decor really showed that off. It was really well done with some great columns of LEDs, which reversed to album artwork. Very nicely done, and you know I like my set and light stuff.
I heard that Steve wasn't feeling good in the nights before the show, but I guess the day off in Denver did him good because he, Ed, Tyler, Kevin and Jim were all on top of their game. They really do seem to love Denver, and in fact their adlibs were about a few of the places they hit while hanging out (14th and Arapahoe, Denver Athletic Club, Mustard's Last Stand, and Jerusalem's).
My personal highlight of the evening was getting to hear "In The Drink" live for the first time. It's one of those tracks that most people don't have a clue about or don't remember. They may have skipped over it on the CD (it's on Born on a Pirate Ship for those of you trying to jog the ol' memory), or played it once in the background, and didn't really tune into the lyrics. I think I'd do you a disservice if I told you all about it, so I'll force you to go drop that disc back into rotation and tell you to just listen to it. Jim, Ed and Kevin stood around one mic and proceeded to give me goose bumps. Jim even made up a new verse on the fly. It was too cool.
Overall, I do like the new album, but it's taking longer to grow on me than in past times. However, I will say that the tracks they chose to do live were truly outstanding.
Great show, as always, boys, and we cannot get enough of you here in Denver, so please do plan on coming back if you get the chance.

Dang, I *heart* Jerusalem's. . .wouldn't that be cool to run into them in there? You'd practically be sitting on their laps! w00t! Wish I could've gone with.
