All About Myles - 2007 Version

Posted at January 21, 2007 09:17 PM in Fun Stuff To Do .

O.k., so for those of you that know me, you know that I don't do a lot of these types of things, but it's been a while, so I figured what the heck...

The original instructions said to send your answers to a group of friends so they can learn more about you, but I'm not a fan of doing chain e-mails, so I'm doing it here...if you would like, you can certainly copy the text and put it in an e-mail yourself and copy me...I'd love to learn more about ya.

Away we go...

Main Questions

1. What time did you get up this morning?
6:58 a.m., but not because I wanted to...

2. Diamonds or pearls?
I don't wear either, and Delphine prefers diamonds, so I'll go diamonds.

3. What was the last film you saw at the movies?
"Night at the Museum" - a MUST see, seriously...check out my review coming soon.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
I watch a TON of TV, but if I had to choose one, I'd go with Heroes. I cannot wait for it to start back up TONIGHT!

5. What did you have for breakfast?
A liitle bit of the eggs that I made for the kiddos, and some biscuits and gravy that I had made for breakfast yesterday.

6. What is your middle name(s)?
Myles

7. What is your favorite cuisine?
Generally speaking, Asian, but Italian is a very close runner up.

8. What foods do you dislike?
Not a huge fan of seafood in general (apart from shrimp and salmon)

9. What is your favorite chip flavor?
Salt and Vinegar

10. What is your favorite CD at the moment?
Right this moment, it's a mix CD that my friend Jose put together for me with a lot of good chill stuff on it, and some fun things like Meat Beat Manifesto. It's got some island music, some ambient electronica, and a bunch of other goodies.

11. What type of car do you drive?
2006 Black Volkswagen Jetta

12. What characteristics do you despise in people?
People who are full of themselves, people who think you should respect them without getting to know them first, people who micromanage, and people that are bossy.

13. Favorite item of clothing?
Generically, my hats. I'm a baseball hat guy. Specifically, though, I have a favorite blue shirt with a star and the word "Lincoln" across the chest.

14. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
London, with side trips to Dublin and Paris. And it might happen in April.

15. Favorite brand of clothing?
Old Navy, no question.

16. Where would you like to retire to?
San Francisco, if I could afford it. Otherwise, right here in Denver. I love it here.

17. Favorite time of the day?
11:00 at night, if I've caught my second wind. If not, then sunrise...I LOVE the colors and the feeling that a fresh, new day brings.

18. What was your most memorable birthday?
There are two that hold very special places in my heart. One is my 19th birthday when the Becker Birthday Bash was born, and the other was my 16th birthday when a bunch of friends and I went to the Museum of Natural History and saw the Pink Floyd laser show at the planetarium.

19. Where were you born?
Oshkosh b'gosh, Wisconsin

20. Favorite sport to watch?
This is SO hard for me, loving both football and hockey, but I probably would go with football by a slight edge.

21. Who do you least expect to send this back to you?
Well, since I'm not doing the traditional method of e-mailing it, I don't really expect anyone to shoot me an e-mail in reply, so I'll let that question slide.

22. Who do you expect to send it back first?
Ditto from above.

23. What fabric detergent do you use?
Not a clue. I know Bounce is in heavy rotation for fabric softener, but the actual detergent I don't know.

24. Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Dr. Pepper, or Diet Vanilla Berry Dr. Pepper. But if I HAD to choose between Coke and Pepsi, then Coke (Zero).

25. Are you a morning person or night owl?
Well, ever since I was 13 or 14, I've had this uncanny ability to stay up late and still function fairly well in the morning. Typically, though, I'm a night owl, staying up at least till midnight.

26. What is your shoe size?
Depends on the shoe, but usually a 12 to 12 1/2.

27. Do you have any pets?
Two black cats, Zephyr and Zerbert.

28. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share with anyone?
I'm getting my annual birthday tattoo on February 2, 2007, and the 18th Annual Becker Birthday Bash is going to be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Cheshire Cat in Arvada, CO.

29. What did you want to be when you were little?
I'd have to ask my mom about when I was REALLY little, but judging by the things I did when I was really young, either a professional building climber (ask me about climbing out my 2-story window when I was 2), or a news reporter (I vaguely remember standing on a hill in California with my mom watching the helicopter bring Richard Nixon back to his house or something). But once I got my first computer at age 11, I was hooked, so I knew it would be something with computers.

Favorites

Shampoo?
This is a joke, right? Actually, I use Basis facewash as my "shampoo". It's got a nice, light citrus smell to it.

Soap?
Bath and Bodyworks Warm Vanilla Sugar Bodywash. Mmmmmmmmm, Vanilla (that was for you, Mark).

Day or Night?
Night.

Summer/Winter?
Actually, I prefer Fall to either of those choices, but if I had to choose, then Summer - softball is tough to play in the winter...

Favorite commercial?
I have two. One is from Honda and features a Rube Goldberg-type contraption showing off all the bits a pieces that make up the Honda Accord. The second is the "Herding Cats" commercial from EDS during the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. The "Usual Suspects" use this phrase a lot when we are trying to get a group of people together, so when we saw this commercial, it was even more hysterical.

Right Now

Wearing?
My new Gap jeans that I got at the outlet stores in Silverthorne for $9 each (I got 2 pairs since they were so dang cheap). Now I know why Delphine wants to get these! My red Bass baseball cap, my Old Navy embroidered logo shirt, my Grinch boxers, Hanes socks, and my black Bass boot/shoes that I got a couple of years ago for $18 (another killer Silverthorne find).

Eating?
Just finished off Papetti Foods' "Chef's Omelet", Ham and Cheese. You wouldn't think that frozen omelets would be any good, but I assure you, they are!

The Last 24 Hours

Cried?
Crack on me if you will, but the Grey's Anatomy this past week was pretty tough for me since it dealt with George losing his Dad. At one point in the show, Christina says to him, "There's a club. It's called the Dead Dads club. You can only join when your Dad dies. I'm sorry you had to join the club." It's very true. You have no concept of what it is like until you go through it.

Made a new friend?
Can't say yes...maybe in the last week, but not in the last 24 hours.

Cleaned your room?
Hmmm...not really...Delphine keeps it pretty clean. The only thing I really need to do is put clothes away, and that only happens every once in a while.

Drove a car?
Absolutely.

How many hours slept?
5-ish, less than I wanted, but it's all good...Starbucks is attempting to save me.

Do You Believe In...

God?
Absolutely.

Yourself?
Usually. Recently, it's been pretty easy to do this, but there are days when I doubt myself a lot.

Your friends?
100%.

Santa Claus?
Yes. I am still a firm believer in the magic of Christmas, and Santa goes right there with that.

Destiny/Fate?
Not a whole lot. I do believe that people should take responsibility for their lives, which means that you really do make your life what it is.

Friends And Life

Who have you known the longest of your friends who you still have contact with?
Without a question, it's one of my best friends, Jason Armour whom I have known since 4th or 5th grade.

Who do you go to for advice?
It varies. Most of the time it is Delphine, but for certain things it's Jason or Jeaux. I also use "The Usual Suspects" a lot as my sounding board since that is a very intelligent group of people from all walks of life.

When do you cry the most?
I'm a softy, but I cry a lot at certain songs, and in scenes on TV and the movies that hit home in some emotional way.

Do you want your friends to do this and send it back to you?
It's always good to have updated "dirt" on my friends, but a lot of my friends are like me and really don't do these sorts of things, so I would totally understand if they didn't e-mail me their answers.

Do you make friends easy?
I make friends easy, but it takes a while to get into my "inner circle".

Do you have lots of friends or just a couple real good ones?
I am blessed to have a lot of really good friends. I have a great network of friends that I trust implicitly and while it means I usually spread myself thin, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Fin

Well there you have it...there's probably more questions you'd like me to answer, and if you come to the 18th Annual BBB, you'll probably get those answers...heh.

Happy New Year!
