Well, the wood-esque floor is finally done, everyone! And most of the beadboard is up, as well (what some might call wainscoting).
I'll add pictures of the wainscoting in a few days, but for now, check out the progression of getting the hardwood floor in on our main level.
For those of you that know our house, the back living room was carpet. There was a bar that separated it from the dining area, and then the dining area, kitchen, hall and bathroom all had linoleum.
A few months ago, Delphine ripped the bar out (with her bare hands). Then a couple of weekends ago, we tore out the carpet, and then had some guys come in to install the new floor. They had to put a sub-floor in, since the back room was lower than the linoleum, but you'll see that in the progression.
It's taking some time to get used to, and there are a couple of things that aren't quite right yet (the installers didn't put the dishwasher back quite right, so we had a leak that warped some of the wood), but all in all, it is really nice.
Delphine is the master of home improvement!
Oh, and a HUGE thank you to Scott for helping with the wainscoting!!! I cannot wait to have pics of that...
